context
Project created during the summer semester 2025 in the film course.
From the initial idea to the final presentation, we students worked independently in teams to produce videos in the genres of documentary, reportage, and explanatory film. This semester's focus was on “services.”
We asked ourselves what a service provider in the field of communication design looks like. What tasks are involved, what does an average day look like, what makes the work so special, and what are the challenges?
The short film takes a documentary look at the profession of graphic designer as a service role between creativity and customer communication. It shows how initial ideas are transformed into concrete visual solutions through briefings, feedback, and a keen sense of design. The focus is on how designers put their creativity at the service of others—while retaining their own signature style. Interviews and everyday scenes provide an honest insight into the opportunities, challenges, and mis-understandings surrounding the design.
interview
We interviewed the agency to learn not only about their company, projects, and team, but also about their working methods and thoughts on their profession.
filming locations
First, we visited the guys at their agency, where we interviewed them and then filmed inside. After that, we went with a few of them to some painting locations and filmed on site.
