context
Project created during the summer semester 2025 in the audiovisual design course.
Our task in this course was to agree on a piece of music as a group. The selected piece had to consist exclusively of sounds and tones and contain no vocal elements. The aim of the task was not only to analyze and structure the piece of music, but also to engage with it more intensively. Based on our analysis, we were to visualize the piece anew using only shapes and colors.
animation
Before we could begin animating the piece of music, we first had to analyze it. To do this, we created semantic differentials, notations, and morphological matrices, among other things. The purpose of this preliminary work was not to treat the piece superficially, but to carefully listen to all elements, tones, sounds, bars, and sections. Based on this information, we developed new forms, parameters, or color levels for each element in order to create a uniform visualization that matches the character of the piece.
documentation
The documentation covers our entire work process from start to finish. It includes all steps from researching and selecting the piece of music to the visualization levels and animation designs. Our focus was on creating documentation that not only depicts our animation and its creation process, but also matches the character of the piece of music in terms of design.
poster
Finally, our task was to design a fictional event poster presenting our piece of music. In keeping with the animation we had already created, we selected key design elements and incorporated them into the poster. However, the poster was not only intended to reflect the piece of music, but also to encourage potential visitors and interested parties to engage with the piece and, ideally, attend the event.
